The Miller-Kitto American Legion Post 25 and the City of Florence came together in the late 1950s to provide a section in the Union-Highlands Cemetery to provide an economical resting place for honorably discharged veterans. Post 25 acquired from the City section 71 as the Veteran’s section.
In the early 2000 the members of the Legion working with the Florence community added at 48 Niche columbarium which was erected on the grounds of Section 71.
